Tibidabo is the best place for summer Barcelona activities. The park is more than 100 years old. There you can see old amusement rides and use them! The park is situated on Tibidabo Mount which is 500 meters high. The view from its Ferris wheel is really exciting and roller coasters are absolutely great! You will definitely get a good dose of adrenalin using some of its 25 amusement rides. They have different facilities for children and adults, even a street theatre giving funny plays.
But there is one thing you should keep in mind: the park doesn't work 7 days a week. Please visit their official website to be confident. If the park doesn't work on the day you are planning to visit it, don't be sad and visit Tibidabo Sky Walk. It has less amusement rides (only 8) but it is opened all year round. There are amusements which will definitely please your children: merry-go-round, airplane, Rio Grande, and their famous Museum of Mechanical Toys (Museu d'Autòmates del Tibidabo) where one scene of Woody Alan's film "Vicky Cristina Barcelona" was made.
After you try all the amusements of the parks you can enjoy Barcelona views from the best sightseeing platforms of Temple Expiatori del Sagrat Cor and Torre del Collserola.
You can get there from Avinguda Tibidabo by Tranvía Blau (€ 4.50) and by cable railway (Funicular del Tibidabo), in this case you will pay € 4. You can also use Tibibus, the way from Plaça de Catalunya to Plaça del Tibidabo where the park begins will take you 20 minutes, the trip will cost € 2.80
